{{Policies}}__NOEDITSECTION__ ==Overview== ;Write in Third Person :All pages should be written in the third person point of view. Avoid using "I", "me", or "you" pronouns when writing articles. For example the sentence "I would recommend that you bring {{Ci|Pudding}} when playing tank characters." should be something more along the lines of "{{Ci|Pudding}} is an excellent card for tank characters." or "Due to tanks relying on their hp stat, it is advised the player bring {{Ci|Pudding}}." ;Be Concise and Stay On Topic :As this site serves as an encyclopedia of knowledge, articles should be written to focus on their topic. A little descriptive writing can make a page more palatable, but anecdotes, stories, and personal or unrelated information should be left out of informational pages. ;Need Help? Ask! :If you are unsure on how to do something or need writing assistance, ask a wiki admin or the [https://discord.gg/eKk4TYx 100% Orange Juice Wiki Discord]. ==Terminology== * '''Unit''': Any character that can participate in battle. This includes players, [[co-op]] bosses, encounter NPCs, and minions. * '''Player''': The unit that the player controls. This includes CPU-controlled units, but does not include units that can never be controlled by a player, such as a co-op boss. * '''Field''': The game environment in which matches take place. This includes the board, center deck, encounter NPCs, and field events. * '''Board''': The game board on which units move and interact. * '''Panel''': A space on the board that a unit can land on. * '''Home''': The player's starting point, where they can heal and achieve norma. * '''Norma''': Use this when possible when referring to the player's level. Use "achieve norma" over "level up" to avoid mixing the player's account level with their current norma level in game. * '''HP, Max HP, ATK, DEF, EVD, REC, and MOV''': The various stats a character can have. * '''Hyper''': A character's unique card that can only be drawn from the deck by that character. * '''Passive''': A character's passive effect, listed on their unit card. Only some characters have these. <!-- Boss Card Contract Deck Hand Battle Challenge Prize --> ==Grammar/Diction Guidelines== Various guidelines to formatting special in-game terms, to provide consistency throughout the wiki. *Never use words such as "health", "attack", "defense", "evasion", "recovery", or "movement" to refer to the character stats or stat buffs, to prevent ambiguity between the stats themselves and the actions of attacking, defending, recovering, moving, etc. *Always capitalize the card types, which include the terms "Boost", "Battle", "Event", "Trap", "Gift", "Quest", "Bounty", and "Hyper", when referring to a card or contract. **While not technically being card types, "Mushroom" and "Legendary Mushroom" cards should also be counted under this guideline when referring to those groups of cards as a whole. **This guideline should only apply when referring to a card. Therefore, the trap and mushroom objects that can be found on the field should not be capitalized. Quests/bounties should also not be capitalized if referring to the objective and not the cards themselves (i.e. "completing a quest"). **This guideline does not apply to unit cards, unless you are using the specific terms "Unit (Player)" or "Unit (Enemy)". *When referring to which side of battle a unit is on, do not use the terms "attacker" or "defender". Depending on context, the terms "opposing unit", "challenger/the challenged unit", or "the unit on the attacking/defending side of battle" should be used instead. *Use the term "player" when describing the hypothetical player character in things such as card effect descriptions. Avoid the term "user". *Use the term "trigger" when describing a panel or trap's effects taking place (i.e. "triggering a trap"). Avoid the term "activate", and be careful about using the term "land on" (as panels and traps can be landed on without being triggered). *Be consistent about character pronouns. Use "it" instead of "he" or "she" for non-gendered characters, and refer to Mira as if referring to multiple people. ==Internal Links== ;Characters :When referencing a character that can be represented with a card, use the {{Tlx|Ca}} template. This includes non-playable characters like {{Ca|Star Devourer}}. :<code><nowiki>{{Ca|CharacterName|VisibleText(Optional)}}</nowiki></code> :Example: :<code><nowiki>{{Ca|Marie Poppo}} is one of {{Ca|Islay|Islay's}} biggest counters.</nowiki></code> :{{Ca|Marie Poppo}} is one of {{Ca|Islay|Islay's}} biggest counters. ---------------------------------- ;Cards :When referencing a card, use the {{Tlx|Ci}} template. :<code><nowiki>{{Ci|CardName}}</nowiki></code> :Example: :<code><nowiki>{{Ci|x16 Big Rocket}} cannot deal damage to units under the effects of {{Ci|Solid Witch}}.</nowiki></code> :{{Ci|x16 Big Rocket}} cannot deal damage to units under the effects of {{Ci|Solid Witch}}. ---------------------------------- ;Panels :When referencing a panel, use the {{Tlx|Panel}} template (or its shortcut, {{Tlx|Pa}}). See [[Downloadable Content]] for a full list. :<code><nowiki>{{DLC|#}}</nowiki></code> :Example: :<code><nowiki>{{Ca|Nico}} was added to the game in {{DLC|19}}.</nowiki></code> :{{Ca|Nico}} was added to the game in {{DLC|19}}. ---------------------------------- ;Dice :When referencing a dice cosmetic, use the {{Tlx|DiceIcon}} template. See [[Dice]] for a full list of dice names used on the wiki. :<code><nowiki>{{DiceIcon|DiceName}}</nowiki></code> :Example: :<code><nowiki>The {{DiceIcon|M10 Robot}} is earned by defeating {{Ca|M10 Robot}} on Hyper difficulty.</nowiki></code> :The {{DiceIcon|M10 Robot}} is earned by defeating {{Ca|M10 Robot}} on Hyper difficulty. ---------------------------------- ;Homemark :When referencing a homemark cosmetic, use the {{Tlx|Homemark}} template. See [[Homemarks]] for a full list of homemark names used on the wiki. :<code><nowiki>{{Homemark|HomemarkName}}</nowiki></code> :Example: :<code><nowiki>Since [[Version 2.0]], the {{Homemark|Presents}} is automatically rewarded to all players.</nowiki></code> :Since [[Version 2.0]], the {{Homemark|Presents}} is automatically rewarded to all players. ---------------------------------- ;Pet :When referencing a pet cosmetic, use the {{Tlx|Pet}} template. See [[Pets]] for a full list. :<code><nowiki>{{Pet|PetName}}</nowiki></code> :Example: :<code><nowiki>The {{Pet|Red & Blue}} is earned by owning {{DLC|18}}.</nowiki></code> :The {{Pet|Red & Blue}} is earned by owning {{DLC|18}}. ---------------------------------- ;Accessories and Colors :When referencing an accessory or unit color, use the accessory or color template determined by the name of the cosmetic. See [[Accessories]] and [[Color Packs]] for full lists. :<code><nowiki>{{CosmeticName}}</nowiki></code> :Example: :<code><nowiki>The {{Chocolate Color}} and {{Lunar New Year}} accessory were first available in the [[Chocolate for the Sweet Gods]] event.</nowiki></code> :The {{Chocolate Color}} and {{Lunar New Year}} accessory were first available in the [[Chocolate for the Sweet Gods]] event. ---------------------------------- ;Other Internal Links :Links to other wiki pages that do not fall under one of these categories should use this format as well. :<code><nowiki>[[PageName|VisibleText(Optional)]]</nowiki></code> :Example: :<code><nowiki>[[Space Wanderer]] can be a difficult field for players to achieve [[Norma|normas]].</nowiki></code> ==External Links== External links are those that point to websites ''outside'' the wiki, such as Steam or Twitter. External links should only be used when necessary, such as for references. Do not falsify external links, and do not link to irreverent, personal, or malicious sites. *General usage: <code><nowiki>[Link VisibleText]</nowiki></code> *Example: <code><nowiki>[https://store.steampowered.com/app/282800/100_Orange_Juice/ Steam Store Page]</nowiki></code> [https://store.steampowered.com/app/282800/100_Orange_Juice/ Steam Store Page] ===References=== References are used primarily to cite reliable sources, and sometimes used to provide explanatory footnotes. Adding references to a page requires two different pieces of code: *Within an article: <code><nowiki><ref>Reference text, usually as an external link</ref></nowiki></code> *Once at the bottom of the page: {{Tlx|Reflist}} See [https://community.fandom.com/wiki/Help:Cite Help:Cite] for additional examples. ==Special Formatting== ;Spoilers :The {{Tlx|Spoiler}} template is used to hide spoilers and other sensitive content. :<code><nowiki>{{Spoiler|content to be hidden}}</nowiki></code> {{Spoiler|content to be hidden}} :On [[Events|event]] pages, spoilers are used during the first week of an event to hide most or all new rewards in the page's Event Rewards section. The use of spoilers should be indicated with a note such as the following: ::<code><nowiki>{{Hatnote|''(Due to Wiki policies on revealing event unlocks, all new rewards will be hidden behind a spoiler for the first week of the event.)''}}</nowiki></code> :Spoilers are not necessary for returning items or shop items, or for global counter milestones (as those are represented with <code>???</code> until the reward is revealed in-game).
