The Character Event was one of the bonus events that ran numerous times in the past. For the duration of the event, some units temporarily became available to play, even if the player had not unlocked them. The main menu also featured a unique banner when the event is active.
It was similar to the All Units Event, but with only a few specific units being available.
The Character Event was succeeded by the Free Weekly Characters feature in Version 2.9.3.

During the Character Event, a group of 4 to 5 characters (and their voices that were currently in the game) became available to play. All the characters in the group shared a common theme, and the main menu banner changed to feature most of the group's characters.
The Character Event only featured three groups of characters, listed in the table below.

- The Character Event used three global stats out of a set of nine with similar names (
STAT_EVT_10AthroughSTAT_EVT_10I). This suggests that six additional groups of characters had been planned to be featured at some point.
