Playstyle[]

Kai is a character granted above average stats with the only drawback being a a less than stellar, although still useful hyper. Due to his boosted statline, Kai is able to easily play without the need for cards and play solely on having better stats than the majority of the cast. Kai should play fairly passively and take safe fights when available, and use hyper smartly as the 20 cost can be a setback if Kai gets little to no reward out of it.

Tips[]

Playing As Kai
  • Due to Kai's buffed stats and lack of many card synergies, Kai should deck card control such as  Gift Exchange and  Flamethrower to remove cards from characters with lesser stats who may otherwise be able to gain a lead through using cards, allowing Kai to abuse his statline with less potential obstacles.
  • Kai's hyper,  Protagonist's Privilege can be used both offensively and defensively. Offensively his hyper can be used to start multiple fights against players while putting himself at practically zero risk, and defensively to fight players to avoid them fighting him first and to prevent the Mass encount1 Boss from attacking Kai. Kai's hyper also completely prevents Sherry from hitting Kai for three turns, as even if she starts a fight, she will go second and be unable to counterattack.
  • Due to Kai's buffed stats, he will rarely be the target of  Gentleman's Battle and Kai himself can use this to pick off weak targets, especially in combination with cards such as  Big Magnum and  Final Battle
  • Kai can go a more defensive route with cards such as  Shield and  Dinner and have the primary use of his ATK be for Mass encount0 Encounter mobs, at the cost of slightly nerfing his offensive potential.
Playing Against Kai
  • Due to Kai's solid statline and the option to deck card control, Kai has no solid counters aside from picking characters who have even better stats, such as Tomomo and Sherry.
  •  Shield Counter can completely stop a fight from Kai, even while under the effect of  Protagonist's Privilege.
  •  Rbits can allow other players to fight Kai and buff their DEF to simultaneously hit Kai and take minimal damage; unlike  Shield which has no potential to be used offensively.
