Unfortunately no Widow, I think I should have made the issue clearer. I apologize as I did not make myself clear enough. I showed the double template on the old wiki to show the clock working in its on and off state. The problem is that the line between the image and the text is blank if you look at it: Template:FP-Event. There is suppose to be a timer there that does days, hours, minutes, etc as in the picture below. It uses this java to work normally: https://dev.wikia.com/wiki/TZclock Anyway we can fix it? Also minor note, one of my editors is hoping you can add the Cargo extention as well. Also sure, do what you need to to get the card template working, and yes tooltips would be greatly desired.

CSS changes[]

Remember, there's also Mediawiki:Hydra.css, in addition to common.css and also, "margin:0 0 0px 0;" is the same as "margin:0;" You should try to make sure that you are not redefining the same selectors again and again across all these css files — Game widow ( talk ) 12:35, 23 October 2018 (UTC)

Alright, I'll keep that in mind. Unfortunately, I am a self-taught coder which means I know my code is pretty ehhh. I kinda just cobble together codes that work. If you see anything particularly bad, please feel free to optimize it and/or make a suggestion. Permissions granted. You are now an admin and as such you are expected to uphold the quality of the wiki and to act in its best interest. At this time, admin-only status is being added to pages that are of critical importance to prevent the possibility of future vandalism. This includes hub pages such as rosters and lists and templates that should be secured. That said, there is an issue I would like to resolve. Put simply, please shelve the Rerun template. Rerun pages need their own pages to be practical long term as they are often tweaked and will likely be so in the future. I know this might seem frustrating as the event might be identical, but for the sake of the future I ask that you give them their own pages, much the way Scramble!! for an Xmas Miracle! - Returns was. I suggest calling the page "Event Name year Re-Run" It will be too confusing to keep re-referencing old pages time and time again in the future, and a pile of multiple expired clocks on the top of the screen will amass over time. Please remove it and construct a secondary page. Focus on uniformity- that is the prime goal moving forward. Lastly, certain pages are receiving the "A-Class" icon, indicating the page is complete and should be looked at as a standard for what others will look like. It will be removed in the long run once it is no longer needed, but is needed at this time as the wiki's progress needs to be tracked. It is more for the editors than the viewers to note. Good luck editing and good work otherwise. Thank you for doing your best to maintain the wiki.

Voice lines pages[]

Hi, after some thought I believe we shouldn't be doing romanji for the voice lines, as there are way too many variations to interpret Japanese, takes a fair amount of work, and in general romanji is frowned upon. Also, if it's getting deleted, it would be better to rename the column from "Kanji" to just "Japanese". KidaJiwo (talk) 09:13, 7 July 2019 (UTC)

Some wikis do the romanji as well, thus I have conflicted feelings on removing it without ample cause. Wikis such as the Long Live! wikia and the Overwatch wiki have it. Even the touhou wiki which we are attached to in some ways has it: it[1]. I would prefer a vote of some sort on it really as some may find it helpful. I have been using the same generator for all voice pages: https://nihongodera.com/tools/convert which seems to work very well as it can do it all at once, and I myself look at it and it sounds more or less correct. After working with it extensively in excel, the work of creating the romanji script has gone from 1 hour to around 1 minute to generate all of the lines or romanji with almost 0 work. A period is added to end of each Japanese quote automatically, it is run through the program which only recognizes the new period added by excel, it is pasted in a single excel cell, converted to columns separated by period (removing them) and re-pasted and transposed to make it in rows. Sounds complicated but it's not. I agree we can make the "Kanji" just say "Japanese" but I see no need to remove the romanji unless it is flagrantly wrong. Frowned upon or not, some people find it helpful, and I myself have found it quite interesting. I don't really think romanji can be feasibly 100% accurate given that it is sound based, similar to the english Pronunciation Guide the wiki has. I advise asking around for opinions and checking how good or bad the current romanji is. Might even be worth asking Fumi since he has helped with that kinda stuff in the past. If it is completely off, then it may be worth scrapping. The ones completed using this generator are: Kai, QP, Marc, and Suguri. Hime and Aru are done as well, but I believe that was with a different generator a while back and thus it will likely be replaced to conform. Please get back to me on the results/consensus. JP Wiki/Discord server[]

Just wanted to give you a heads up, I've been hashing out affiliate status with a Japanese player whose been running a JP server, as well as a wiki for their language. They've only just started their wiki, though, so it's pretty empty at this moment. Other than that, everything checked out ok, so I've added the links for both to the usual spots (front page sidebar and Discord page). They've also made a post about their server on Steam.

Main Page style edits[]

Hey SSB, I wanted to know what the purpose of the main page edits were. Having a "we need people" sign take up the full width of the page like if it was a welcome sign doesn't sit well with me, on top of leaving so much whitespace on larger resolutions. I'm not undoing the edits, but I'm strongly against it, especially considering high resolution monitors are way more common than smaller ones.
I also feel a smaller sign without so much visual flair would give the same attention than what we currently have; someone that doesn't want to edit isn't gonna start doing it because an anime character told them to.

Long time no see. To explain the changes: they were much deeper. The edits that were made prevent overflow of pictures when stretching and also prevents portal/right from dropping off the screen until the screen is crushed to an extremely small width. Essentially, lots of flexing was added and the News template was restyled to have borders and the images inside of it shrink properly without escaping the border as does the event logo in portal/right. I have yet to add the ability to have 3-4 news bits but I may or may not add it. Mainly if you squish the screen manually, you will see what I mean. That said, I made a few changes to it based on your post. I actually had thought the positioning of the help sign was weird not being centered a while back but whatever, I have put it back. Otherwise, the only noticeable change is that the headers like "Juicy News" are thinner and the very different coding style I have adopted, as I want to add a new mobile menu and have nearly made it possible. Not sure when I may finish it though as I am rarely active and have real work to do. I really suggest upgrading the code on this wiki. If not mine than someone else. We both know it's coded poorly...especially the roster which I have been looking into as of late...I came so close, but flex is a pain. https://codepen.io/The-Greenest-Horn/pen/vYYJxQZ. Anyway, that about does it for now. Hopefully, my minor fixes since posting fix the gripes, but if they do not, explain what other problems I cannot see.

Further update. I have now made it so you can have up to 4 pieces of news. For the sake of testing, I have readded Sea Bed on Switch. It would be a good opportunity to test how well it works on a bigger screen. If all works out, the sandboxes contents can be copied over to the actual templates and we can remove supersonicboy/sandbox01etc from the codes.

You did your best, little more to say than that. Ideally, we want to get to a point where it will work on any resolution, that's the primary goal. I know u have never been a fan of small screens, but just about no other big wikis have this runoff problem we have. You can squeeze their main pages as much as you want, and while they may look odd, they do no "break" like hours. I am going to wait for the wiki manager to finish trying. If he/she fails as well, then the solution can likely be much easier; at a very low resolution, just swap the table with a generic flex table NOT in a diamond grid formation- Just lined up and then use a generic flex table so they move. The whole point, Kida is that we make a wiki that doesn't proceed to rip itself a part when pushed.

It's a bit unfair comparing us with ~6 active members and a game updated once a month barely passing 1k players and a game actually making millions with as many players and many more active on the wiki, but alas. The wiki you linked uses and abuses media queries to be able to adapt the page as they please supporting >500px, >768px, >1024px and >1350px resolutions, on top of having everything under flexboxes and nothing static, unlike ours having the dialogue box asking for editors, the Portal/Right, the character chart, etc. Other parts of our wiki 'cannot' support these resolutions due to the static way they're built (character tables, cosmetic pages, etc.). So yes, our wiki sure looks prettier, but it's much less flexible, so we would have to give up on that to be able to do this. Keep in mind that, at least in my opinion, it's less likely for people to check the Wiki for a PC game on a phone, unlike the other wiki which is for a phone game, therefore will probably be checked in one (so focusing on very low resolutions shouldn't be a priority, being my point). — KidaJiwo (talk) 23:08, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
Kida, I do certainly understand that sentiment, and that is of course why I'm not expecting immediate miracles. It's more I want us to think more about what we are building. We dug this hole for ourselves because my base code wasn't very good. Even the month codes are getting messy and there are some things in them that should be in the hydra. A lot of the functions constructed for this wiki, I constructed, and to put it bluntly, I am not a very good coder. I do not want nor expect this change to happen right this very minute, which is why I'm looking into how to fix things. Some of the stuff we have is as simple to fix as removing the width lock in the style and adding flex functions, which is what I did on the Card Pack Selection and Character Search page. In the long run, if we choose to do nothing, nothing will ever get better. Don't worry so much- I never said it was a priority which is why I've been working on it in the background. I know the wiki will always be computer focused, thus I want it to work on a computer. I am the kind of guy who compresses tabs to be thin so I can read and play, and it's not possible on our wiki in certain places. If you really want to talk about it in-depth, I can swing by the discord, though I dislike doing so. There a lot of theoretical projects to be done on this wiki.

New campaign unlocks[]

Even if they are "supposed to be" extreme unlocks, I believe the wiki should reflect the information about the game as it currently exists in the most updated version of the game, regardless of what may have been intended by the devs. The pages can always be updated later if the game is patched, but right now we are purposefully providing untrue information, as both unlocks can currently be earned from Normal difficulty. Even if we are certain that they are going to patch it soon, I still think we shouldn't provide untrue info in the meantime. — Zomoroko (talk) 21:33, 22 December 2019 (UTC)

Accessories Revamp[]

Hello again, SSB!~ I am getting back to working on updating the new accessory pages to the new standard, and so just wanted to message you about it since we've talked before about exactly how we should go about it. I've recently updated the Halloween Costumes (2016) to a level that I think is agreeable, but there was one element I was unsure about that we haven't addressed before. When an accessory can also be found in the Mystery Bag, do you think that information should go under the Unlock Method or Other Information section? I'm also not sure how I feel about the bullet points under the Unlock Method section but I figured it was the best way to go about it if there are multiple unlock methods. But that's part of why I figured it might be better off in the Other Information section. Like I said, I'm still unsure, so I was hoping to get your opinion on the matter. Thanks. Hey Zoe, The additional bullet seems fine. Its arguably the best place for people to see it. While it's kind of a cheap unlock method, it still is an unlock method. Otherwise, my only criticisms of the page which I changed is don't use the candy template: "Halloween Candy Icon.pngHalloween Candy" so much. Perhaps, use it once in the unlock info and then maybe once in "Other information". If you use it too much it defeats the purpose and diverts the user's attention too much imo. I've made a few changes as well to better match how we handled candy restrictions on the Waruda's Presents page. Edit them as you feel is correct, just, try to make those pages similar. Only other thing is of course "Updates Section" which currently isn't present on the page. I also removed some info regarding candy because I think this page User:Supersonic_Boy/sandbox013 will eventually cover it? No matter how its done, just try to keep it consistent. If there is some amount of clarity missing, add it and do so on other related pages. Only cosmetic pages with the R star in the right corner should be used as a reference at the moment. I know this is a much longer response then you probably expected, so feel free to give feedback, or reasons why we should undo some of the changes I made. Alright, thank you for your response. I agree with basically everything you've said here, and I will make sure to try and keep links to a minimum. Every revision you have made to the page I agree with, except for one part. With seasonal unlocks I feel it is important to list all the times it has ever been made available which is why I had the line "Candy has been obtainable in all Halloween Events since then". I agree that most of the info on Candy could be integrated into the new currency pages but I feel that this should be included on the accessory page as it specifically references all the times the accessory has been available since its release. Color Packs Revamp[]

Hello SSB, I've now finished the new color pages, and will start implementing them soon. Aye Zoe, nice. Everything seems in order however there is 1 thing...and I think you know what it is. Albeit clever and a bit cheeky, Red-Teal should be green templates and you know it, lol. Those colors have meaning and thus I can't really say they should be that way. That said I realize there are errors in some of the other things that show my own errors with it- antlers should not be in red but green and RPG costumes should be purple (or green at this point since its base game now). In terms of accessories and colors, the color sorting was red = christmas, green = base game, yellow is not used because it doesn't stand out, orange = halloween, blue = school, teal = summer, pink = valentines Purple = poppo/unique events. That said I think it might be time we tweak green because man is it pale. I know its based on the boost card color but I think we should pull it from a slightly darker portion of the card perhaps. Honestly the more years and events that pass, perhaps the colors will eventually be removed all together.~ (ShockBowLocke not logged in)
Alright, I will fix the colors. I did notice the proper pattern of colors but saw them as general guidelines rather than rules so I figured I'd make them match the color packs themselves. Now that you've said it out loud to me though, I agree that consistency would be better haha. Although, I do feel it wouldn't be inappropriate to have the template colors match the origin of the cosmetic even if they are nonseasonal now. So RPG costumes would be purple, antlers would remain red, etc. The color would still match the "theme" of the cosmetic even if it is nonseasonal now.
